Amy Hess, DVM

As a native of upstate NY, Amy spent her childhood running around in the woods obsessed with wildlife and nature and dreaming of becoming a veterinarian. After graduating from Northeastern University in Boston with a available's degree in Biology, she attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her clinical year at Cornell University. She obtained her DVM in 2006 and spent a year in an emergency-focused rotating internship at the New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater, MA. She remained in the emergency department, working with a variety of specialists, and continuing to develop her passion and expertise in emergency medicine. For the first eight years of Amy's career, she was straight involved in the training of new veterinary graduates in emergency medicine. She has always had a passion for teaching and feels that it is one of the greatest ways to increase personal development and help the community.
Several years ago Amy left the Boston area and migrated north with dreams of buying land and starting a farm sanctuary. She worked in emergency hospitals and general practices effectually New Hampshire and Maine until finally laying down roots near Portland, ME. She enjoys the mix of urban perks and the rural feel of the area. She shares her home with a menagerie of chickens, goats, peafowl, rabbits, cats, and her dog Sabrina. All of Amy's pets have been rescued and she still dreams of starting her farm sanctuary one solar day! Since she was a kid, Dr. Fowler had a fondness for animals, and later working at a vet clinic later on college, her fate was sealed. When she isn't at work, yous will find her taking her rescue dogs for a hike, including Cosby, Bagel (the charmer of the group), and Poppyseed. Poppyseed was rescued after being kicked by a horse and had a leg removed; yet, she is withal the fastest runner and highest jumper in the house! Throughout the years, she has continued to accelerate her knowledge in the field of emergency medicine, but also in cultivating relationships with patients and clients alike to offer the best quality care. Outside of work she likes hanging out with her cat, Mew, spending time outdoors, watching game shows, and photography. Technician Assistant
Jessica grew up in Saco, an animal lover from a very immature age. Her family pets, a cat named Shadow and a dog named Fido, helped nurture her interest in animal companion intendance. According to her begetter, she always talked of wanting to exist a veterinary, and her childhood photos are proof of that. As a kid, she was oft photographed sitting in a rocking chair, property Shadow, or walking in the garden with Fido.
After high school, Jessica attended Saint Joseph's College of Maine and received a bachelor's caste in pre-veterinary science and biology. She eventually secured an internship at the Humane Society where she started off as an creature care technician and was soon promoted to vet assistant. She joined our team later on researching other opportunities in the veterinary field and we're lucky to have her!

Lily was born in Southward Hampton, NY, and moved to a dairy farm in Scarborough, ME, when she was three years old. She helped her parents raise chickens and ducks, as well as three dogs, three cats, four guinea pigs, and two hamsters. This was when she get-go realized her love for animals. Andrea is the proud pet-parents to ii rescue pups- Fiona, a Staffordshire Terrier who was used as a breeder until Andrea rescued her, and Ravyn the lab/pit mix who gives the best hugs in the world. She also has a equus caballus named Rosie, who she has had since existence a teen, and now traveled across the country to retire in New England. When she isn't at work, Andrea loves hiking and going on adventures with her creature companions.
